Focuses on the collection and analysis of volcanic gases directly from vents, fumaroles and other accessible sources, providing detailed information on gas composition and its variations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Addresses the measurement and interpretation of gases released diffusely through volcanic edifices and surrounding areas, including methods for quantifying emissions and understanding their spatial and temporal variability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Develops and applies remote-sensing techniques to detect and quantify volcanic gases from a distance, including ground-based, airborne and satellite observations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Focuses on measurements made within volcanic gas plumes, using instruments deployed in or close to the plume to characterise gas composition, emissions and plume processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
